Add Value to your stairs.

Instead of ripping out your existing stairs why not replace the balustrade. Having a new balustrade fitted to your existing stairs can really enhance your lobby. After all, this area creates the first impression for your property adding style, value and of course safety to your home.

We replaced the old timber balustrade with modern stainless steel balustrade, 304 grade and polished to a 240 grit standard and fitted a timber slip handrail to the top. The posts we manufactured actually fitted down on top of the existing ones and so there was no need for any alterations to the staircase itself. Our metal fabricators worked to a very fine detail to scribe the cut out on the posts to match the existing.

This stairs used to have standard white timber handrail and banisters and we replaced it with glass panels with brass handrail and brass covering plate to the stringer. Looks totally different. We machined each glass bracket form solid brass and the finished glass balustrade looks great.

Again, here we had your typical timber stairs and timber balustrade which we replaced using a steel plate stringer support plate, toughened and laminated glass panels and stainless steel and timber handrail. We coloured the bottom band of the glass to cover the existing stringer. This type of glass balustrade can be adapted to work in most locations. The stainless steel handrail is fabricated off site and then installed using the minimum amount of  on site welding.

So, as I was saying it is not always necessary to go down the expensive route to get the look you desire. With a little thought and effort your idea could become a reality.

Regards, Martin.
