Another metalwork package completed……..

Monday, May 21st, 2012

We have completed the metalwork package for Parnells GAA Club new club house in Dublin. In this architectural metalwork package we supplied glass balustrades, stainless steel balustrades, mildsteel balustrades, frameless glass balustrades and a spiral staircase.

We manufacture stainless steel posts from 316 grade satin polished plate and fixed the glass using machined stainless steel fittings.

We supplied frameless glass balustrades for two staircases complete with stainless steel tubular handrails.

We manufactured mildsteel balustrades with a stainless steel tubular handrail on top.

Satin polished stainless steel tubular handrails are fixed to the concrete walls with polished stainless steel handrail brackets.

The spiral staircase is manufactured from mildsteel with chequered plate treads and landing plate.

We manufactured the spiral staircase in our mildsteel factory in Ballyfoyle, Co. Kilkenny is such a way as to be able to bolt it into position on site.
Nice work again Lads.

Copper Bar Counter fit out

Friday, November 18th, 2011

We have just completed the fit out of a new bar at The Left Bank Pub in Kilkenny. Our architectural metalwork package consisted of Copper and glass main bar counter, stainless steel and copper back bar and brass and glass balustrades.

The main bar consists of mildsteel framing with pressed copper top, corner pillars and skirtings.

The brass and glass balustrades are fabricated with welded and polished joints. Glued and screwed joints are high risk in such a public place in our opinion.

The items were fabricated in our workshop in Ballyfoyle by our qualified and experienced metal fabricators and the project was completed within 3 weeks.

Copper is a great material to work with and when allowed to manufacture for such a high quality project as The Left Bank Pub we get a chance to really push the limits.

When manufacturing the stainless steel drip trays it is easy to add that little something special for our clients and that is why we add in the Pub name.

Stud Farm ironmongery

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

We have recently completed an iron mongery package for a Stud Farm in conjunction with Duggan Lynch Contractors, Kilkenny. Our architectural metalwork package consisted of stable door hinges, strap hinges, latches, kickover latches, door tie hooks, door keeps and mesh weave grills.

The project consisted of fittings for 60 doors.

Single and double hinges were required. Hinge pins are machined giving a very smooth rotation when opening the doors and all items galvansied and powder coated.

Lockable cross bolts were also equiped with an end tab to elimante the risk of the doors rattling open.

The door tie backs were manufactured in the same style and also have a galvanise and powder coat finish.

Kick over latches are kept simple and easy by the operater to use.

Galvansied mesh weave grilles are cleaned of all spikes and edges prior to dispatch for safety.

Stable door hinges, cross bolts, tie backs etc can be fabrciated to suit different doors and also can be shaped to suit the location. A little design can go along way and look great also.

Gorilla Rain Forest at Dublin Zoo

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

We were delighted to be invited to the official opening of the New Gorilla Rain Forest Exhibit at Dublin Zoo especially after we worked on the architectural metalwork package on this project. This project involved the design, fabrication and installation of glass viewing screens set into mildsteel and galvanised frames and structures.

The glass was 42mm thick and each panel weighed approximately 350 kgs. and when working to a 2mm tolerence in these sections things became very difficult at times.

The viewing platform area was fabricated in our workshop in Ballyfoyle and after galvanising we installed this on site by welding and polishing out all the joints to avaoid any damage to the Gorillas.

This window is by far the heaviest we ever installed to date weighing almost 1.5 tonnes.

It was amazing to be working within such a natural enviroment and to how the animals are catered for and accomidated is fantastic and it is a truely wonderful place to visit.
Good work again Lads.
Regards, Martin.
