UK project completed on time

Thursday, September 1st, 2011

We have just completed a Waitrose Shop fit out at their new Sevenoaks Branch in Kent, UK in conjunction with Steel and Roofing Systems in Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny. This architectural metalwork package included mildsteel balustrades to back of house staircases, stainless steel and glass balustrades to lobby area and access ramp areas.

We also sourced the timber handrail for this project and installed it on site.

We installed 316 grade satin polished stainless steel tubular handrails on the wheel chair ramps.

We installed the full package in 12 days from start to finish.

All the metalwork was manufactured in our factory in Ballyfoyle and shipped over night to site where our site Crew Derek, Simon and Eamon got to work and produced excellent results.

Another metalwork package installed on time and safely.

Martin.

Dublin Airport T1 project completed.

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011

We have just completed our architectural metalwork package at Dublin Airport. This project involved mildsteel, stainless steel and glass work and we supplied Forster metal doors, glass screens, stainless steel bump rails, stainless steel handrails, gates, cabinets and frameless glazing.

The project was carried out over 10 weeks with design being a major part of our metalwork package.

Again attention to detail was most important to CDS with metalwork quality, user safety and the architectural features which the Architects required being brought to bare on the finished work.

The metalwork is a powder coated finish and the stainless steel fabrication is polished to 240 grit satin finish with the glass elements being toughened and laminated with some opaque panels being required also.

In total we installed 18 tonne of glass and all the metalwork was fabricated in our factory in Ballyfoyle, Co. Kilkenny. The Forster door units we manufactured and installed are complete with bespoke pull handles and overhead mag locks for security.

The entrance portal was manufactured using a structural steel core support structure and the clad using a material called Dibond and Alucobond. The finished achieved on this section looks incredible and all fixinges etc. are hidden and so gives a seamless look to the finished piece.

Credit goes to our excellent design team, fabricators and site crews for carrying out a great quality project, on time and safely.

Aluminium fabrication

Monday, April 18th, 2011

We have just completed some aluminium fabrication in our workshop in Ballyfoyle, Co. Kilkenny which consisted of manufacturing aluminium perforated panels for the M1 Motorway Gantrys for Steel and Roofing Systems in Kilkenny.

We fabricated angle section frames and fitted perforated and folded aluminium sheet by rivets onto these frames.

We completed over 300 linear meters of aluminium welding by Tig and used over 8500 rivets on this project.

Thanks to SRS for the opportunuty to fabricated this project which consisted of 139 panles in total.

Well done lads. This project was completed right on time.

Martin.

Furniture & lighting

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

Designing and manufacturing bespoke furniture and lighting is a particular challenge for CDS Architectural Metalwork, and it’s a challenge which we relish. When we get a design brief we set our design team to work and with the input from all the trades we can come up with very rewarding results.

Stainless steel table top lighting.

Table frames were manufactured from 304 grade satin polished stainless steel. these items were Lazer cut, polished, fabricated and then polished again.
